Il nuovo rinascimento petrolifero
Sta arrivando il rinascimento in questo paese, è tutto successo sotto il nostro naso. Il libero mercato dei prezzi petroliferi per i passati 10 anni lo ha fatto susccedere da solo, senza sussidi governativi, ed è parte della ragione per la quale le cose sono destinate a diventare varamente difficili per i sostenitori dell'energia alternativa nei prossimi cinque anni, con la sparizione dei sussidi statali. Non avranno più senso dal punto di vista economico appena i prezzi del petrolio scenderanno, e da un punto di vista di budget non possiamo più permetterci di tenere in piedi industrie che non possono sostenersi da sole nel libero mercato. Un debito pubblico di 16.000 miliardi di dollari - e in crescita - vuol dire che gli ambientalisti stanno per affrontare una battaglia in salita per avere la loro causa finanziata dai contribuenti americani.
The New Era of Oil Renaissance
We are going to have a Renaissance in this country, it just happened under everyone`s nose. The free market of high oil prices for the last 10 years made it happen all on its own without government subsidies, and part of the reason that things are going to get real tough for the alternative energy folks over the next 5 years as those government subsidies wind down. They will not make sense from an economic standpoint once oil prices come down considerably, and from a budgetary perspective we can no longer afford this propping up industries that cannot sustain themselves on their own merit in the free market. A 16 trillion dollar debt and climbing means the environmentalists will now be facing an uphill fight on Capitol Hill to have their cause funded by the American taxpayer.
Yes, this is the usual and typical mainstream press propaganda directly or indirectly financed by special interests -and in this instance fossil-fuels- industry interests. (propaganda which is getting worse and worse and more and more dangerous by the day) And there is no doubt that U.S. environmentalists will be facing an uphill fight on Capitol Hill since the hordes of "K street" paid lobbyists will make sure to oppose any half way reasonable legislation and have plenty of money to buy off Congressmen.... and of course will be supported in their efforts by the Tea Party wing of the Republican Party which was elected by those very same interests and with considerable assistance also from Fox News, Rupert Murdoch and the Koch brothers. But this is really nothing new is it? By now it's reasonably well-known the only question remaining what to do about it. (or what more, and what that would be more effective, can be done) E se qualcuno vuole, posso volentieri anche tradurre questo mio commento in italiano. Ma dato che si trattava di una cosa piu o meno Americana... l'ho scritto prima in inglese.
ReplyDeleteIl mercato, la mano invisibile: quanti equivoci. Il mercato lo fa chi ha i soldi: se non li hai, non esisti. Visto il punto di partenza, questo strumento non poteva far altro che generare distorsioni nella allocazione delle risorse.
